Heart full of posies in hues of pink, white and peaches. The entrance was filled with bunch of flowers, dazzling lightings, like a dreamlike decoration just how I had envisioned it. It was held at the Elaan Convention, Bangalore.

Giving an insight into what we call The Big Fat Indian Wedding, it encompasses multiple ceremonies like Mehendi, Ring Ceremony, Sangeet, Wedding and Reception.
Indian marriages are said to have innumerable rituals, traditions and vibrancy. Indian marriages are known for their lavish and high spirited look, but in reality there is much more than just the brilliance and glamour in an Indian wedding ceremony.
Coming to my personal style, Every look was styled by me with a certain thought behind each one of them.
The celebrations started with the Mehendi Ceremony. It’s one of the most light hearted rituals. Mehendi is applied on the hands and feet of the bride in beautiful and intricate designs.
This ritual is accompanied with great exuberance and dancing. It’s held before few days of marriage. It’s surrounded by the kaleidoscopic dresses, vivacious music and cheerful dance. Both the bride and groom are smeared with Haldi.
Next came the engagement. On this day, The Ring Ceremony is one of the pre-wedding rituals in which the couple exchange rings as a symbol of their commitment.
I wanted something simple and I chose to wear a simple casual yellow shirt paired with beige color pants.
Sangeet Ceremonies are usually held after the mehendi ceremony. It was packed with enjoyment, frolic, dance and traditional wedding songs. The concept of Sangeet is in vogue. Theme Sangeet are enacted with much vigor. The dances are well choreographed and the family members new prepared to flaunt themselves on stage for the bride and the groom. The Sangeet Ceremony is celebrated with much grandeur and merry making.
I wore an indo-western dress designed by myself, to pep up the look and add some color. I like the color contrast in the whole outfit. I love the textures and the drapery of the patiala pants. Patiala pants are usually famous in punjab but it’s never ceased to show up everywhere in the following years as it’s very comfortable and gives you the pleasure of satisfaction. Also, I wore Juti which completed my look.
Rajasthani brides are generally dressed in saris or lehengas of traditional colors. Sangeet is an exception to this as most brides are choosing to wear traditional gowns or indo-westerns. My sister chose to wear an elegant peach colored into western for her sangeet ceremony.

Sometimes, She thought she was in a dreamlike state and also imagined herself as a princess. Just like how she had imagined that a prince would one day come and take her for a ride into love and marriage and live happily-ever-after.
